Mark Catesby's Natural History of America The Watercolors from the Royal Library Windsor Castle. This is the first comprehensive study of flora and fauna on the eastern seaboard of the United States a work which encompassed the years from 1729 to 1749. Published here for the first time are the original watercolors from which Catesby prepared the etchings. These watercolors were on tour in the US in the 1990s after the fire at Windsor Castle and were exhibited at the Telfair Museum in Savannah in the spring of 1998. The book was published by the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston in association with Merrell Holberton Publishers London. The book is in pristine condition with numerous color plates and 160 pages.
